Pink-Pineapple-Pitaya-Perfection

Pink Pineapple Pitaya Perfection! www.LipstickandBerries.com

When you drink this, you instantly become a princess! Seriously.  This is fabulous YOU time.  Put on your invisible tiara, or a real one if you have one, and flaunt your stuff. This is my prettiest smoothie to date. I love Dragon Fruit because of its mild sweetness, but lets be honest – I mainly like it because it’s hot pink. I mean, a fruit can’t get much more awesome than this!! A perfect example of nature’s beauty!

The dragon fruit (Pitaya) is an oddly fabulous fruit. On the outside, Pitaya has a pinkish red color with green funny leaves. On the inside (the part you eat) you will find fruit flesh ranging from white to deep fuschia. It is full of hundreds of tiny black seeds, but don’t worry they aren’t hard to eat! The fruit’s edible seeds contain heart healthy monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids.

Enjoy this smoothie and treat yourself like a princess! (I’m assuming women are reading this smoothie recipe, lol, but if you’re a guy we will let you feel as fabulous as we do too!)

  1. I can’t wait to try this!!!

  2. I’m going to place an order for some of the Pitya packs! I’ve been hearing so many great things about it! Why is the recipe called pink pineapple? Does Pitya taste similar to a pineapple, or is pineapple supposed to be added into this drink and was accidentally left out?

    • Hi Kay! Oh my goodness, yes this recipe is supposed to have pineapple written in the ingredient list. Add 2 cups frozen chopped pineapple. To answer your question about pitaya, honestly, pitaya doesn’t have a strong flavor. It is just very healthy and rich in anthocyanins and antioxidants. Where the flavor is mild the color and nutrients make up for it!! 🙂
